Ok

Who loves this belt?
I'm not completely a belt or bag person..
But, I was loving and wearing this belt on Friday.
We should make these, right?
It kinda makes me light headed... as my waist is
no where near this small.. but, it was worth it.
Yay for belts!

tah dah

I decided my blouse only needed one little ruffle.
I tailored her to fit perfect at the strap line and I
just don't want to cover it up with a bunch of ruffle..
plus, my aversion to over the top femininity may be
at play here.
Front is low and blouse-y, with a small ruffle.
back is low with a Melange of Vintage
granny buttons.
Granny's button box also held a good amount of
religious treasures and I have been staring and studying.
love these guys.
Pinned this guy right onto my top.
Side note : the 'Jegging' wearing is getting out of control over here.
The Jegging, the hybrid of the jean and legging,
is becoming my daily staple. It takes me about 10 minutes to
get on and 20 to get off.
Further, a picture of my feet is about all I will allow at
this time.
Although, Ava is not camera shy and has started demanding that
I take her picture every time I have the camera out.

Holy Bow!

I have done it. I have recreated the cutest hip purse
and given it a bit of a Jaimee makeover -
sewn up in hand dyed canvas with floral boho lining
and sweet silver hardware.
Behold the cuteness! Get yours here... and for a measly
50 bucks, I will personally sew one up for you!
In the lightweight canvas, this purse is such an awesome
every day carry all.
Get yours at the Smalltime shop here
Again, I say, let's look alike!!

like candy.

This one is for you, friendy.
I finally went onto the Linda Farrow Vintage website this
morning and it is full of amazing.
Linda Farrow is back in action producing her beautiful
sunglasses that she first made famous in the seventies.
We all know her from the slatted glasses image
of Kanye that overstayed its welcome over the
last two years, but she is so much more and
doing some very impressive collaborations with
some wonderful brands and designers.

Linda Farrow sunglasses are like, well, candy.

Above fabulousness from the Linda Farrow Luxe line.

The more important question is.. where can we get these
beautifully wacky designer collaborations?

for Bernhard Willhelm.

For Charles Anastase.

For Jeremy Scott.

For Sophia Kokosalaki.

And LF uses her projects collaborations to pair with some of our

And, if you need more diamonds in your life(i do), there are always
these hot mamas.

from Linda Farrow Fine Jewelry Collection.

I am loving my new sunglasses.

amazing dimension

In need of some sexy fall dimension for
those preppy fall outfits?
LOVE these new necklaces from jcrew.
These are darling..completely.
Although, there are some amazing vintage
guys available for adopting.
Adopting jewels is doing something good
for mankind, after all.

Last night at another super fun Ambiguous/Active paddle
show(possibly more comments to come later),
I resurrected the excessive vintage pearl wearing
that I used to do quite a lot in my early 20s.
I am now very interested in this heavy rhinestone wearing, however.
I'm going to make it happen.
Happy weekend!

look of the week.

Let's rename this post 'For the Love of Blue'.
I already had my hand slapped by sweetie
this morning because my last blue post
was too small. I admit, my heart was not in
it. Frankly, the blue items that really excite me
are the blue items in my own closet.
I'm not sure if its the end of summer or what
is going on, but I have definitely been in a vintage dress
wearing mood lately.
Take this extremely killer backless friend below...
accompanied by sweetie's homemade blue friend.
And no, jeans and dresses are not a sweet pairing, but I
was feeling a bit lazy this morning.
This dress was not originally blue, but after careful
consideration became blue just yesterday. The original
had potential but was white with a blue stripe and some
extra special vintage yellowing.
I quickly thought about blue blue and more blue
and yesterday my blue dreams came true.
[dress from the VZmoda35 shop, dyed with RIT dye]

let's dress alike! Go dye some stuff blue!

My favorite collection of vintage blue dresses(and one jumper)!
[get your dresses! from left: dresses 1,4,6 from Wasteland,
dress 2 from rabbitsnyc, dress 3 from VZmoda35,
dress 5 from NodtoMod Vintage, and dress 7 from my mom.]

we are shocked by the beauty of blue!
go spread the blue vintage love.
(any excuse to repost myself making this face)

Look of the week.

So.. with a strong demand for new woven and other fantastic
design ideas comes the compulsion to go ahead and dust off
the fun vintage wovens from the closet. These two were actually
slated to get taken in and were dug out of a bag next to the sewing
machine. My strong desire to wear and be inspired by them
trumped their need for a slight tailoring..
I was completely thrilled with this shirt yesterday. Every time I
caught a glimpse of myself I was smiling. The
rainbow mini plaid,
the accordion collar? AMAZING.
Note, too, that the ever popular wayfarers from last year
have been transformed into very hot spectacles.
Let's call today's shirt Sgt. Pepper and the Religious Sect Club Band.
The color is so wonderful.
You will have to excuse the lack of makeup, but that is part of the
weekly 'I'm a slave to the computer' look.
A big shout out to Meg, who was present for the purchases of both
of these sexy items. It was just a year ago this week we were
trying on vintage star spangled jumpers for the upcoming
Independence Day holiday..
note to anyone over five foot five inches tall:
a jumper is NOT for you.
And, in serious news, excuse the lovely spot on my nose, as
my formerly sun kissed nose was introduced to a bottle
of liquid nitrogen on Monday, due to a possible pre cancer spot!
Getting old is rough. New message/New look of the week
essential - sunscreen(they now make 70 spf).
Let's bring this blog back into the positive by getting excited about
this bag of vintage treasures found in my mom's garage...
20 beautiful sets of tri colored crochet flower coasters knitted
by my grandmother, Regina Kern, herself.
The colors are so seventies lovely. These guys are best shared
among family members in surprise care packages. But, I am loving
the big bunch of them as company.

look of the week, new love

I am a creature of habit and compulsion. Generally, I wear the
same look or piece or jewelry continuously until I tire of it.
Lately, my look has morphed into something similar to this
Madewell look above(minus the crisp blazer prep factor).
J Brand indigo stretch denim, sloppily
rolled, strappy sandals, and slim basic tee or tank.
Note the evolution from the legging to the stretch denim and
from the oversized tee to the basic fitted. Üge development.
Same strappy sandals and giant Bohac lurex scarf (that
has been the subject of teasing for years, due to my
obsessive daily wearing) apply.

The new love I am referring to is my new Bjorns gramps
sweater from Ambiguous. The cutest thing ever and the
only high point to this gloomy weather. I look forward to
wearing it obsessively in the Fall.
So let's dress alike for the moment, again.
