bringing it back.

has anyone noticed what the top has become?
I just feel like shirt separates have morphed into the invisible
layers of totally cute jacket/skirt/pant based outfits.
No one is talking about cute shirts, people!
Shirts are solids for layering or tunics for comfort. How will I
bring tops back into the limelight?
This is one of those moments where I remind myself that my
tops are whatever I want them to be and
whatever whimsey I choose to inflict on poor bystanders.
So, I say yes to oversized, dolman sleeved,
printed and embossed silk masterpieces.
who is with me?
So off I go onto a short voyage.
with help from the shirt wall and the shirt rack, of course.
And, I must applaud anyone who puts a picture of
themselves on their blog because as of late,
I cannot bring myself to do it.
Perhaps it is a slow hump that one must get over.
I am not sure. Thoughts?

glasses time

Oh how we love our plastic glasses.
We wore them here (sans lenses),
and constantly give them to all of our friends.
Fresh glasses colors were at it this weekend...
the new white glasses were a hit in the
two to forty five age range and really caused a stir
on the street corner(that may have come out wrong).
Anyways, there is a trunk show on Saturday and the glasses will be there!
Exciting! Working on a tutorial for tomorrow! Dig deep!

what the cat dragged in

Hmm. Something is amiss here.
I forgot : it's 'Mustache March', says Sweetie.
I think that I am being hoodwinked here.
Of the many looks of the 'Mustachios',
it would appear that Sweetie resembles the
third from the left on the top row, who is looking
a bit sad that his mustache is sparse and possibly
confused for a bit of dirt.
Although, he is not even close to as dejected as
the poor fellow below him without mustache.
Which leads us to conclude that mustache : happiness.
At least March is nearly over.
These mustache crayons can stay!
Mustache for me leads my brain directly to Rooster
from Annie... take that and analyze it.
So, my relationship with the mustache, like my relationship
with suspenders and straw hats, is troubled.

old stuff

Old photos mesmerize me.
Sweetie turned me on to this amazing
photo series by Jason Powell titled 'Looking into the Past'
He hunts down the current places of these
old photographs and compares the two.
Read the interesting descriptions of these photos here
This bunny shot is amazing. My obnoxious former self
definitely put a bunny on a leash at one point.

Yes, I have been dying for someone to
draw me a crab riding a bike for
sometime now... yes!
Sweetie finally gave into my pleading.
And, we got some new Vday surprises too!!

art and a yama

While in the fine country of Chile, we were able
to get our own personal tour of the Republica 2110-3010
art exhibit at the Centro Extension Balmaceda
in the equally fabulous Parque Quinta Normal(fabulous in a different
way.. hint: the llama aka Yama and a wide variety of kissing
people/crazy bike vehicles/dangerous playgrounds/etc.)

So we are on the same page here... let's flash back to this. While in
Chile we were able to get a very special showing of art by
the very same artist, Piguan, as well as some other
wonderful French and Chilean artists.
The Chilean Artists, who make up Kiltrv were sweet enough
to walk us through. Such a treat!

Some highlights..
Apparently this box had quite the drama while traveling from
France to Chile. (There is the flyer at the top left.. for more info,

As I have mentioned many times before, regardless of the
level of artsy fartsy-ness of your activity, it is
extremely hard to look cool/artsy/angst filled when you have revealed
your true self to the world (think human jungle gym - below).
The front room of the gallery space.
Pins in the artist's heart. I feel you!
Amazing shoes. Part of a piece by Nicolas Thomas.
Wall of mixed screen prints. yum.
A beautiful piece by Piguan: a starving mother
and child with ipod and diamonds.
It is most interesting that the the word 'bling' can truly
transcend any language barrier and was used
several times in describing this piece.

The awesome style of Carole Bielicki..
Of course women will bring peace and beauty to this crazy world!

And the Parque Quinta Normal.
These images hardly need description.
Such simple beauty.

And then we hauled ourselves over to Bellavista to see
a remote collection of the same artists.
Even Ava is inspired.
Wrought iron incredible.
More works of Piguan.
Please support these artists! Buy tees from Ambiguous!
Buy tees from Piguan or other Kiltrv artist,
Diego(who is also darling) here. Or, here.

What's it all about

Sweetie sent me this today from Steven Burke,
who has been known to do a few T shirt designs
for Ambiguous.
This truly could be our life story.. I hope we
stop working soon!

So perfect!

Although, these days there is not even
time for dreaming!! Happy weekend!

More paddles

Another fun paddle show last night at the X-Large store
in Los Feliz and it was super fun. What really
made the night was watching Marty and Elaine
at the Dresden while eating Prime Rib.
Awesome night!! (check out Marty and Elaine above)

The X-Large space..quad cam style.

This man made me so super happy last night.
He was OWNING the color pink,
OWNING the free beer offering and
seriously moving from one long pose into the next.
All night! (that's conviction)
Although, he was sharing a little too much info
about his pink undergarments. Hotness!

buzz buzz busy bee!

Sorry the blog love has lacked enthusiasm..
busy to work on a new Fall 10 line.
Of course, I am taking inspiration from all
my favorite internet nooks and crannies that I
have and will continue to plug shamelessly.

Can't wait to show off the final product!
