i guess

I will crawl out of my hole and blog?
The last few weeks have been very hectic.
My very witty and awesome grandmother
passed away a few weeks ago.
She definitely was a presence and I am going
to miss her.
She was a woman after my own heart :
she could eat a pie for dinner, always stayed up
late, and was never serious.
She was the center of every crowd.
love this moving shot on the 'jazzy'
and amidst all the madness, grandma 2 decided
to have surgery. timing!
So, I am back. I am planting... a little late, which
vexes me, but! I did purchase this lovely giant
(yes, the biggie!) greenhouse for my seedlings.
yay me.
Its kind of an *upgrade from last years seedling
greenhouse.. being made of glass and all.
And I almost flipped my lid at Roger's
Easter lay out. Egg madness.
I had to leave quickly. But I will return.
And purchase stuff. Glitter covered
smiling bunnies in overalls carrying
bags of egg stuff.
This was my fave egg..
stained glass painted on real eggs.
In other news, I totally missed Valentines..
and I am sorry. I did make cookies?
plus, in totally creepy news, Ava got stick-on
watermelon fingernails for Vday.
Don't worry, they lasted about ten minutes before
getting matted into the carpet.
"rawr".
Yes, that is the ANNIE vinyl in the background.
And, yes, we do know ALL the words.
Wanna come over? ha.
And lastly, coming up next Tues is the Holiday 11 photoshoot.
mid century styling +
+ my mom's hair from 1968
 = success!!
obviously!
Anyway, I will start making our lunch plans and
returning calls and texts now, and even
repair my car and speakers(!) while I'm at it.
Thanks for all the vday gifts and cards.
I have yours.. they are tardy.

bad behavior

bad bad holiday behavior.
bad blogging.
bad communicating.
bad worker goes to work in one outfit and leaves
in another.
cute color blocked knit top though, right?
the holiday has brought the realization of
the brilliant egon von furstenburg sweater we
have all been waiting for, though.
note the real deal on the right and the new colorway
on the left. bright poppy and new wood buttons!
yay for Paige
and of course there was holiday crafting!
psychedelic santa anyone?
 homemade salt and flour ornaments.
bummed I cut off Ava's 'sleeping bag with pillow'
creation at the top left.
 happy holidays from Christmas Yoda.
New year's resolution to be a super good
blogger, among other things to be
discussed later.

Before officially moving on to Christmas,
it's December btw, pretty pictures of
Fall on Whidbey Island
 Fall on Whidbey is cooooold.

the farm... loganberry wine and pie. mm
 Langley.. hideous place.
Ava got kind of festive for the Thanksgiving holiday..
And, we finally got on the train float in the Los Altos
Parade of Lights. Thanks to Meg for helping us
live the dream!
totally avoiding work for a week plus two days was totally awesome.
Now, I must get to it.
December!

Mr Turkey

I would not be myself if I didn't have Mr Turkey
wish everyone a happy thanksgiving this year.
I can't believe I forgot to bring him on my road trip.
Dragging Mr Turkey out for Thanksgiving drinks at the bar
brings me so much happiness.
Vintage floral Thanksgiving! Have a good one!

fun fact

Well. Today is my birthday.
Last night I got into bed at about 11:50 and
ten minutes later was woken up by my computer,
and the lines 'hey Jaimee, it's your birthday'.
I knew the sound immediately, though I had no idea where it
was coming from.
Fun fact =  Every year on my birthday
I listen to 'my' birthday song. This song is completely
cheesy and titled 'Happy Birthday Jaimee', of course,
and involves a wacky character named Captain Zoom
singing to me. I am fairly certain it is also someone else's
song as well, since there is a clear break in
the song where the name
'Jaimee' is yelled.
The best part about this song is that it came to me by way of a 6"
LP on top of one of my birthday presents at my 4th birthday.
Here is me at Cuesta park on my fourth birthday.
and here is me freaking out after my balloons flew away.
I tried to get Ava to put this on this morning to indulge my
birthday fantasies and I got a big hand to the face.
My birthday related nostalgia is raging and
I was feeling pretty good after schlepping out the
dress while listening to the birthday song.
And now, I must subject all of you to the birthday song.
I will not apologize for how crazy it is.
Sadly, I could not find video footage from the above party.
So, I set the song to the scene from my second birthday party.

I think I will circle back to Halloween/bday week images next week.
Because this day is all about me. ha!
Have a good weekend! xx!

Pictures of Pumpkins.

wait. I change my title. This is more a photo narrative
of all of the awesome happenings at Roger's last night.
Ava put on her festive duds for the event.
and was looking super old in the car.
When did this happen?
pumpkins.
more pumpkins...
the bumpy, possibly diseased kind.
white pumpkins.
So, this years theme was the haunted Toy Factory.
and some creepy birds came in a giant flock
right as we were entering...
I really have no idea what 'funn and gaems' means.
If someone could shed some light on this for me?
But, of course I approve of any reason to use the
creepy Charlie McCarthy. And they used him.
he was all over the place.
classic shot that I just happened to get.
Weird Charlie photos. Who knows why.
lots of maimed dollies.
I'd say the dollies really took over where the clowns
left off last year.
More Charlies, looking corpse-like on their
assembly line.
This wall was cool until it started singing.
then it got a little dark.
and upsetting.
someone's blowing up dollies!
it's Charlie again.

good clean Halloween fun.
and, we got our picture taken from Jamie
for her cute new blog sixth and lamar.
I really think Jamies gravitate towards each other.
