the stars are lining up

clearly!

I feel like the results of
baking are always 'good' - really,
you are using butter and sugar and other
basic goodness? But, sometimes, things just
fall into place. Perhaps I wanted to impress
baby Smeaton? A real possibility.
Anyway, I will share the recipe with you.
I left out the raisins. And, took it out of the oven
a bit gooey. Oddly enough, A Williams
Sonoma recipe, from their Bread Book
I admit, it is the only recipe from the book that
I have been compelled to try.
But, I will get back to you on that.
At 13 bucks, kind of a steal?
I think this picture really captures it.
And with the coffee being
made in the background? I  mean..

Pieces

Sneak peek.. the elements are all
complete. Now it is time to get to work on the
overly ambitious invites. If my plan works,
I will have waited so long to complete them, that
no one will actually be able to make it. I kid.
Who is that attractive couple? We did get a bit
toony, but we passed the Ava identification test
and that is good enough for me, frankly.
Tonight we 'taste' with Juan Carlos at Barolo,
which is slowly becoming my favorite
restaurant. I highly recommend it to
any OC locals.
(the only link of any value I can find on
Barolo, is some guy rambling on and on
about its Burrata cheese - which is
fantastic, if I may say so. )

so much!

So many amazing dresses out there!
So little time. I will share more, I promise.
With these, the summer camp dream continues.
FYI, I love dress forms. I love dresses on
curveless, boob-less dress forms. No apologies.

pretty

pieces from the UNA boutique in Portland.
look for them... here.
I love knits with back interest. More than that,
I love people who photograph themselves in
their 'for sale' clothing. Cute.

Weekend rummage: part one of fifty

Some early afternoon vino pushed us to open one of the MANY
seventies boxes in the garage this Sunday. So glad we did.. some
amazing new additions... the ceramic lazy susan, the itty bitty
orange vase, and the owl lantern.
Frankly, anything 'disco' pea green I find
to be very appealing. On a side note, take your vitamins!

My favorite things.

The vintage salt and pepper shaker set epitomizes
everything I love about vintage ceramics.
They come in all shapes and sizes and really take the tacky
up a notch. They deserve a 5 minute slide show set to James
Blunt's 'You're Beautiful', but I don't want to bore anyone.
Here are 8 beautiful sets to yearn for.
Or, you can chuckle and I will covet them
quietly. Ten dollars to help vegetables social network
on your kitchen counter? Totally worth it.
Don't worry.. the James Blunt video is not actually that of
'You're beautiful'. I wouldn't do that to you.

I regret to inform you

That I absolutely cannot be inside on the computer today.

The butt dragging occurring surrounding the Anniversary party invites
stops here. More to show later.

And, there is a new crop of delicious veggies to be planted...

to supplement an already sexy garden.
I will be back again..

Oh geez

The guys may be a little past their modeling prime, at the
ripe age of 10, but you know who aren't? The amazingly cute bunnies
on daily bunny. Seriously ridiculous. You will have to
see for yourself. I couldn't bring myself to post such
cuteness for fear that the guys would get jealous.
Thanks, Sweetie for the bunny cheer!

Second Verse

And, how fun are these from the button shop?
The Button Shop is apparently 'the home of the
original tree branch buttons". Very official and full
of really cool stuff.

Who doesn't

have a thing for Vintage plastic buttons?
I am tempted to say they are 'like candy', but fear I have
been doing that too much lately.
Top and middle images are magnets from polished two, cute, and
the bottom image are cabochons with button details from snew

Pretty is

I followed a link from the Storque on Etsy, god love it,
to this darling vintage leather jacket.
And, it shares a store with these super sweet dresses

Today's the day!

Like candy

How lucky am I to have a sister who travels
around the world bringing me amazing beads and
fabric. All I have to do is play with them!
Fun for me.

New arrivals

The Hutch is looking super official thanks to Marcia and
the new arrival of these amber goblets from
Anthropologie! Hmm, my house is looking less hacienda,
keep dreaming, and more Portland vintage each day.
Oh well!

Not that it's sunny..

But, I love summer florals. And, tiered anything.
They always have beautiful things.
Hey - who bought that lion head clutch
I was dying for? boo.

back to reality?

Yesterday..a long travel day. Today.. back to reality.
The new May Anthropologie catalogue has jumped on
the lakeside photo shoot bandwagon.. and would you believe
that any piece of furniture or home accessory submerged in
water looks substantially cooler than dry on land?
Well, it does. And, Anthropologie knows what
they are doing... because these boat pics tickle a fond
childhood memory of Anne of Green Gables..
overly dramatic and saturated with sappy poetry,
a favorite of women everywhere. I was going to
try to hold myself back, try to maintain my one shot at being
hip and cool. But, why? Here is the above mentioned,
über cheesy Lady of Shalott boat scene. Hilarious.
Now we must all have the bedding.
(or its superior look alike at Kerry Cassill.)
Loving these lights. All at Anthroplogie.
Ooh.. got some goodies for Mother's day.
More to follow
