obsessed!

I am feeling psychotic about the color navy.
Oddly enough, I am also assembling a color story for
next spring right at this moment.
Kind of like grocery shopping on an empty stomach.
Well, sorry ladies. Looks like sailor dresses and matching
sailor hats for you next spring.
Anyway, I have been shopping on Allen Company again.
 My new navy boots.
another Ruth Saltz handbag.. love those little lion heads.
navy.
I think I will like a nice navy swimsuit next year? no? thoughts?
Off to a tradeshow tomorrow. I will take some pics and share.
xx!

and how

I love the color red today
how cute is this double gingham.
Why is gingham so cute at times and so awful at others.
Right now, it is cute and i love it.
(from Ramona West.)
And I don't know if its a surge of women hormones or what,
but I bought ANOTHER calico floral dress today.
The last one I bought had HUGE sleeves like this :
these sleeves and this plaid are just lovely.
and I still have a vintage finding obsession with phones and
vintage record players. Any ideas?
And now, Paige, to answer your question.
I usually laugh off these answer the question and pass on to your friends,
but I so cannot live with myself if I even let one person down.
So, in ten years I will be forty years old, which seems crazy.
I already, since turning thirty this year, have extreme paranoia about my
safety and mortality.. so, I am sure I will continue on that track to the
point of unbearable! ha.
My main desire, though, is to be happy with myself and satisfied with my life
and the choices that I made in the last ten years.
Of course, I desire to be WILDLY successful, it would be fabulous if we
could make this business take off and that success led to many fun
travels. I undoubtedly will have collected many things by that point,
and the thought of that makes me happy.
Is that a decisive enough answer?
I did do absolutely nothing over the weekend, which I am terrible at.
Though, I did re-read the fountain head for my tenth or so time,
and now I am lost in a moment of life crisis.. ha.
Just kidding. Although, to be so glamorous and idealistic. hmm.
Anyway.. I am not sure I can bring myself to directly call anyone
out to name what they will be doing in ten years.
So, I hope the ten friends of mine who have blogs (you know who you are)..
do it!
Have a good week!

Minty

And I am talking about color again.  As usual, I am loving
the cool minty blue. I picked up this SHEER vintage gem last week
and I must say it in the wrong hands it would be a disaster.
Luckily, I found her and am continuing to love the soft neons and
my always fave minty.
With color in mind, I dusted off this sweet zip pouch tutorial...
though I mixed it up with some soft neon stencils and vintage giant
ribbon. Fun fun!
Stencils from Stencil 1. Thanks Ame!
There's the mint!! Minty interior.
And what would the minty blue melamine color be without
yet ANOTHER blue celebration cake appearance..

Happy birthday godmom Mary! and Happy Belated Megan!

dreamsicle

Deadbeat blogger here. Needed a couple days to work work work.
Current state is obsessed with this Americana/mod stewardess
color palette for fall winter.
Rehashing Fall runway and keep coming back to the
incredible Chanel show.  BTW, those are real icebergs in the
background. For the sake of faux fur abominable snow man suits,
you need to watch this one. Oh, and for fabulous clothes( faux fur
short shorts included.)
Some loverly red white and blue(and navy>>heart heart)...
1.) Vintage prints from top to bottom:
2.) Dresses from Ramona West
3.) Amazing sweater style from Barefootandvintage
4.) Purse from ggiotta
And a little of this... I swear sometimes the cheesy just gets me.
If you are looking for Easter cheer, this is about as good as it gets.
This girls knows how to party and how to dress (sans shoes).
Happy Wednesday!

Color!

Our cascading succulent fountain is becoming a monster and it is so
rich with color. I am in love with the soft hues.. how they gradate
from one color into the most unlikely color.
I paired the colors with the  Thread Social summer line.
They are on the same color wavelength.
Some of the silhouettes are the same as Spring
(not that I am complaining)
but the new color gives it seriously fresh new life.
um, orange. Always popular. Loving that frosty pinky color too.
This Jumper is the best oldie but goody. Seersucker, which I personally
LOVE working with and a little edging splash of color.
Summer!
Some more succulent goodness for your viewing pleasure.

Why I am never alone in the garden... hello?
another oldie but goody.
yay Spring!

sloooow

Remember when I said that my goal for the year
was to be totally awesome and make something
every day?
I was doing it. I was dominating life! And now, I am sick
and there is a pile of unfinished embroideries
nagging me. I am dying to finish up these doilies and
move on to a couple new projects.
Here are some new and unfinished..

Monster doily.
Seriously. Look at the back!
Another new doily with neon orange crochet edges.
Yet another victim of the cold.
But, there is some planting going on and that is exciting!
These guys are sprouting up some new basil plants.
My most exciting crop of the early plant? Beets. yum.
Coincidentally, this is my favorite seed pack artwork. So much color!
Another thing slowing me down is work. Although, I nice array of
color chips does make me very happy. mmm, color.
Let's cross our fingers that aggressive late night crafting will
continue soon!!

orange inspiration

My love of orange started with the Persimmon.

Not a fruit that most American children even have on
their radar, the Persimmon means so much to me.
Persimmon for me is Fall, is the change of weather, is
the pumpkin scented mush on the lawn with the first rain,
is the only reason to wear my baseball mitt all year,
is the money for my childhood Christmas presents,
is Thanksgiving jello,
and is so bright on the high limbs of the tree
skeleton that we can't get to way into December.

The smell of muddy grass, the high school band at football
games you could hear from my house, Saturday morning
soccer, Halloween window painting, trick or treating in
the pitch black, and Persimmons.

Persimmon was always around.
The taste wasn't much to talk about and it was
responsible for the lion's share of outdoor messes,
so we really took for granted its orange beauty.
And now that it is gone, I miss it. A lot.

The ripe persimmon is almost crimson in color.

These are so perfectly delicious.

the Joel Dewberry Persimmon Palette.

My sister and I beneath our beloved Persimmon tree.
No excuse for our fantastic nineties style.
Perhaps the unfinished kitchen corner can be a home
to Persimmon color fabric and Persimmon inspired wall
collectables?
