Care package!

No, not for me. Luckily, my sister reads my blog once a month.
So, by the time she sees this, she will probably have this
stuff in her hot hands!
I am horribly late for my sister's bday. Hopefully, a fun crafty
care package will excuse my tardiness.
1.) My favoritest ric rac flocked stickers from Martha Stewart. duh!
2.) The most amazing 'nonsense' journal from Seltzer.
3.) Sad Face - Belated Birthday card from totally cool company Hello Lucky
4.) Vintage-like pastels.. why not?
5.)Yes to a do it yourself flocking kit from Martha Stewart!
6.) Second favoritest 3D butterfly stickers.. more Martha
A little Martha goes a long way in Europe.
7.) The best!! label/sticker set from Sukie
8.) Hand carved stamps!
9.) Magical friendship bracelet from American Rag

I am pretty excited about this care package. It's a goodin.
Mostly excited about my discovery of this rad journal
and the Seltzer goods
I'm in love. And, look at the rainbow-y goodness of
all of their journals!!
All from Seltzer

And, I am loving these pastels. Kind of a fun treat!
All gussied up!
And now, some gratuitous kid pics of me and my sister.
The gunny sac fashions!
Still unsure why my kid makes so many faces. hmmm.

new toys

eek! Because 'new toys' these days are paper goods
and plants...
some of yesterday's finds from the scrumptious Roger's
First, I was thrilled to find some succulents that I haven't
met before.. the Lithops-Leslie or 'living rocks'.
They are the cutest buttons. Can we talk about the site
gosucculent? Mind blowing. They ship any succulent.
One of womanly obsessions is the green house.
I have fancy dreams of having one, and fancier dreams of
drinking champagne in its vicinity.
This green house is miniature and a green house..
obsession worthy.
And, it is for spoiling your baby seedlings!
From esschert design. Buy a petit one for only
10 bucks here!
And how wonderful are these tags...
scientific illustrations of a medley of anemone?
With glitter.
from F.G. and co, who I was happy to find out are also
the creators of the birthday crown and the
sweet wish ticket

ella ella eh eh eh

For miss Tuesday, I construct a 3D Narwal
with giant umbrella to keep out this crazy rain.
Considering we are on Tornado watch 2010...
Crafting is keeping me going. If you have no
idea what a Narwal is you obviously are not completely
bombarded by kids and their animal alphabets, or
you have not seen Elf.  nice clip.
A narwal is a Horned whale of the Arctic,
who can be pretty darn cute and artsy.

This Narwhal needs spots and perhaps something else.
Reading glasses? hmm.
He is on his way with his goldenrod floral
print horn.

And his tie dye umbrella.

Perhaps a mustache?! How sneaky and sinister!

This Narwal is smart and sarcastic. From dwelldeep

A season for orange.

I have been waiting to brag about this..
and only now does it seem appropriate
(despite the fact that I pulled this gorgeousness
out in the beginning of October).
My Thanksgiving decor is looking so lovely and
I am so happy to be hosting Thanksgiving this year.

My Cornucopia I have already introduced you to,
purchased at Cost Plus. I looked to see what's on
the decor menu at Cost Plus this year and they do
have this fantastic Turkey. No cornucopia, though.
My lovely accordion Turkey, one of my first
T day purchases 10 years ago.

My new basket of Persimmons, thanks to Joanne.
Thank you!

And here she is, people, one of our most
awesome holiday possessions,
thrifted in Capitola for a whopping ten dollars.
One day, I will produce DIY packages of this
mother for you crafty people, I promise.
It just isn't fair that I am the only one who gets to
snuggle her through the Thanksgiving holiday.

It is hard to keep up with such a lover of November,
but these hot Thanksgiving items are available for
purchase at StashStyle.

Some bonus photos of Miss Turkey, who is quite the baby lover.
And the face of someone who awakens to find Turkey sitting on them.

because November is about getting personal.

written love is not dead!

Sending out my Halloween cards today..

This may be too little too late, but you can get them here.
And, they sell really cute Christmas cards too ( and the most
amazing vintage inspired tree ornaments.. but, that is
neither here nor there.)
I love the phrase 'curioser and curioser'..
stolen from the pages of Alice and Wonderland.

like candy

After a trip to Williams Sonoma last friday, where I went
crazy purchasing WS's new stackable cake decorations,
I am totally into cake making. I made a cake on Friday,
and another on Sunday.

A seriously brilliant idea : making your
own personalized cake decorating tower.
Mine consists of Halloween pearls(I love Halloween),
hot pink sanding sugar, GOLDEN cake duster,
and genuine sugar pearls.
**sadly, these are not available online!

My beautifully sandwiched chocolate cake.
So many delicious things in one picture...
Home grown tomatoes, a giant glass cloche,
a dollop of crema on a nice cup
of Nespresso, 2 cuddly bunnies, a fantastic
vintage lurex stripe dress, and a stack of
apparel mags. ahhhh.

Anyway.. enough ramblings. Onto the main event..
the reason behind the 'like candy' title,
the most incredible random cake kitsch from
my new favorite HEYYOYO store on etsy.
These images of small vibrant plastic goodness
make me insanely happy.

CUPIE!

Seriously!
It is worth mentioning that these amazing backdrops are
all paper from the Martha Stewart collection. The best.
get yours here.
Lie to me and tell me how much you love plastic miniatures!

a fair is a veritable smorgasbord

In the words of Templeton the rat from Charlotte's Web.
And, it is. This weekend we did a quick fair stop that
included fried zucchini( sorry, for the lack of excitement here),
livestock perusal, oohing and ahhing over the veggies( we are
such home farmers now), and of course, another trip to
the photo booth.
The Fair has lost a bit of its luster from its
'Some Pig' past, sadly.
I must say that these amazing images from Yee Haw
letterpress say it the best. Good humor is
essential for a good time at the fair and
surprisingly, Yee Haw has devoted a serious amount
of product to fair related goodies!
I totally missed Condi the singing gerbil.
Mule sniffing, anyone?

last years pics.

Many salty tears were experienced and witnessed.
I for one, cried many salty tears over being shoved
by literally each and every passerby -er.
Oh well.
This years fair pics coming soon under the title 'salty tears'.

hello beautiful!

I have been on the Tord Boontje studio site for the last
hour and it is such an ornate, delicate dream.
I have seen the Boontje cute paper curtains at a few home
stores and they are lovely.. like giant hand cut paper
doilies. But, the studio site is full of other amazing products
and intricately cut mediums. Very inspiring.
The site needs some dreamy music to match the
beautiful blowing wind on the home page.
Be amazed..

Wool felt ground cover!(to, you know, run around in with
your tiered twirly skirt on)

I really need some of this in my life.
Buy yours at the MoMA store.
