ode to pink(again)

Beautiful Pink!
As hokey and uncool as my design school journal
was at times, it definitely looked
amazing, covered in neon pink lace that
was purchased on super sale from Yardagetown.

Inside the front covers are photo copies of an
amazing Vogue editorial of Madonna from the
80s. I still think these pictures are so fun and beautiful,
and they continue to inspire me.
They couldn't have done it it without you, Pink.

Look at the pink glow!

hello sunshine!

Although friend has already been declared the winner in the yellow
category, I will continue my summations of each color profile.
Next up, yellow. Yellow is very fun and exciting. We are really taking
it up a notch today. I am feeling a bit bad about the
mediocre homage paid to the color pink yesterday. Not to worry..
I think I have a solution. That is up next.
Now for some YELLOW! I would be lying if I said that this entire
collage did not revolve around the AMAZING yellow driving
gloves. Friend.. please, oh please?

Yellow is easy going, fun, and happy. Pretty delightful, really.
Yellow can be sexy and sassy, too, if just for the fact that it can
make you look like a bronze goddess, regardless of your complexion.
(or am I fooling my milky self?)
Yellow had better bring it come August 22nd.
Are you a yellow? I think this may be MY color. I'm easy going,
right?

right?

Blushing bridesmaids?

So, although I am not really into all of the conformity of the
pre established laws of the bridezilla wedding,
I am thrilled to have these amazing wedding party plastic
figurines on my blue tiered susie cake for the
anniversary/wedding party.
They arrived yesterday and they are even more fantastic in person.
They seem larger than life, I know, but they are just wee little people,
standing about 1 1/2" high.
Love them.. thank you Natalie!

And, these little ladies inspired me to force my friends to wear
beautiful monochromatic outfits in the colors of the vintage
rainbow. hee. There has been much back and forth discussion,
and much excitement concerning the yellow, green, and blue colors?

Our lady pink is not getting the attention she deserves.
Let's kick off a color by color analysis with miss Pink.
Perhaps we can stir up some enthusiasm here...

It's true Miss Lady Pink will never be known as Madame.
She is very youthful and flirty and really puts herself out there.
Maybe she is to girly, or reminds you too much of a decade past?
She really knows how to resurrect the poofy prom better
than any other color and is seriously sweet.
Who will step up and be our pink lady?

Afternoon delight

I promise some fun party posts are coming..
In the meantime, let me give you a beautiful rainbow
of vintage prom dresses. I highly recommend
dressing in over the top vintage prom gear to any
party guests.

Fuschia and Orange from my favorite AllenCompanyInc.
The rest from AdVintageous, whose prom dress selection is
unstoppable. She is full of fun surprises.
On a side note, I am in love with the Orange dress.
Which color are you?

Happy Friday!

Now, to introduce what I know will be a fabulous
party accessory for our wedding/anniversary party..

I give you BLOOM!
Mine, of course, will be made
custom by Myra Kim to match my party attire.
Isn't bloom amazing!?
More on wedding attire on Monday.
Perhaps another round of which girl are you game
as it applies to parties? fun!
Happy Weekend!

I'll take all of it.

Um, just when I was eying our breakfast nook this morning,
shaking my head over what seems like a BIG job, I saw these on etsy.
We all know I love crochet. Crochet on the seat, on the wall,
cozying my drinks.
These nook beautifiers are all from the EmmaLamb shop.
Considering I do a 'crochet' search on etsy at least once
a month, I find EmmaLamb very mysterious.
That is part of the attraction. I am really starting to buy into the
crochet corner. I was going to base the kitchen with the vintage
yellow-y palette of the top left pillow in this first stack image, as well.

These cushions give me hope!

Diary of a Party Planner, part 1

And so it begins, the daily trials and tribulations of Party Planning.
This post is the first of many. Currently, I am working on the
table settings. I pulled this 'Pearbrook Farm' wedding
(as I call it... who lives on Pearbrook farm anyway? It is all too dreamy.)
feature out of the Martha Stewart weddings SPR08 magazine last
year.. and I just found it online. take a peek! Swoon-worthy.
This wedding is amazing. More on that later. I love the country
feel and the butcher paper tables with vintage printing.
We are also dying for the unmatched vintage chairs.. but, not sure
that is in the cards. sniff.

I am thrilled to pieces that Corra from the amazing Corrabelle shop
on etsy is willing to carve our art stamps for us! She has an amazing
style and I am so excited about our table settings. Too, she is doing
the table numbers, which, of course, means that I will not have
to embroider them.. and that is exciting!

In need of a fun stamp? Check out her shop.
She is the cutest!
