totally unrelated

to the random quinceanera reference..
I am semi-obsessed with the old Mexican poncho and
let's be honest that plain old ratty scratchy Mexican blanket.
You know the things I am talking about...
Yes yes yes!
And! I almost fell out of my chair looking at these!!
not sure where Vdingy gets ahold of this stuff. But it is so
incredibly amazing!
Happy Friday!!

oy!

boy, am I busy.
However, I am also generally very reliable, apparently,
because many people are wondering where I am!
I haven't really had a whole lot of time to visit this ole blog
lately. I am alive and well, do not worry.
Actually, I am about to finish up some fun Holiday11 devo,
so perhaps I will have some fun toys to share soon.
In the meantime, I can definitely bore you with the haps of the week.
1.) I got lots of mail.
I received Halloween costumes for me, Sweetie and Ava
(you will have to wait to find out)
and I got these fun photo albums all the way from Japan.
2.)Shot some more fun swim product.
A giant thanks to my poor husband who is in
loverly Orlando right now selling women's
swimwear.
These models are super cute, right?
Such wholesome fun.
3.) Emily was the big winner of the Bikini Bird give away
and she will be happily wearing this baby
very soon.
Favorite swimsuit, Favorite print. Yes!
So super happy to spread the swimwear love!
As for written love,
I will spread some love real soon. I promise.
Have a good weekend!

A crafty good time = bag.

So, I finally picked the bag design for my first
class and I decided on this super sassy
square messenger. I feel like it will be a good, versatile buddy...
who can be a craft bag or a farmer's market bag.
I miniaturized the bag a little for my own selfish
needs(just for the sample) and felted some rainbow sea urchins
on the front pocket. Mine also has a couple of Granny's
vintage mother of pearl buttons.

Of course I could not waste the precious fabric for the
class so I hand dyed heavy canvas vintage blue
with my favorite RIT dye in teal.

The real bag will be taller, slouchier, and in this super cute
orchid leaf print from Joel Dewberry.
Incidentally, JD also produced the printed
fabric of the chair below.
A little polka dotted bias to finish the bag nice and
clean, a super chic screen print that is at the
screen printer, and we are good to go.
(all fabric/bias available at Hart's Fabric)

The class on Saturday should be a good time!
Once we get some good photos from the class I will
post them with the bag tutorial, sea urchins and all.
Happy Monday!
on a side note.. I am really feeling the quad cam app
for my iphone. A must have.

girls girls

SO many projects dedicated to baby girls (and big girls)
right now my head is spinning.
Here is a beautiful baby silhouette I am working on.
So, I thought it fitting to announce a couple reasons
why girls are amazing(in our household) in honor of my
4! friends pregnant with baby girls right now.

Oh let us count the ways..
Well, to be obvious, girls are crafty.

girls love their gardens,

girls make delicious nonsense..

after homemade nonsense.

Girls get to step out in the most fun get up.

Girls are lovers.
No animal, plastic figurine, photo, plant,
or inanimate object will go un-kissed.

Can't ever have enough girls!!
Some of these projects are going to produce themselves
soon. I swear it! In the meantime, I am going to
focus on not being stressed out by crafts.
Crafts are for fun, right?

Knee deep

This year's Ava celebration is this weekend and I am
finishing up the decor. The same theme, which celebrates
Ava's love for the small plastic wind up toy, will apply.

Here are last year's flags, which are now hanging in my office.
They were so precious, but seriously difficult to unwind and store.

So, this year's evolution of the flags is inspired by these beautiful
Sophie Cuvelier flags, notice via OhJoy a couple of months ago.
Great minds, I say.
I think the felt is a fresh update and seems like it will store well for
my next 20 years of party giving, no?

And so, I am knee deep in felt flags of 10 different colors. Time to start
sewing this masterpiece.

Please report to my office

What we are looking at here is the new color scheme for
my new studio office.. unknowingly provided by
the cute Perch!
These sweet dangling bird feeder duo is from
Perch! as well. I am imagining these friends hanging
in my office, overflowing with bubbly succulents.. no?
