when all else fails

when times are tough..
there is always the sight of a small person
running 200 yards toward a creepy bunny and
eventually jumping into his embrace.
amazing.
And, the spring 'concert' happened this weekend.
Check out the moves..
Look at this group. My kid is a shining star.
Getting personal on this monday to
cure my mondays.
Have a good week!!

what is so sick about this one is how badly I want it.
via.
And!! (mini drumroll)... the Split Girl Fall 11 fanny.
There are a few things going on in this picture.
1.) the fanny. its two available prints.
this here fanny is on its way to Emily!!
2.) the vintage backpack that is also fantastic.
3.) an attempt to make all jealous of my last supper
framed by plastic portrait that I keep by my desk.
I am not a religious woman, but please please
oh Jesus please let Emily do some form of
tacky 'thirty days of my Fanny' blog entries.

And, of course, an Ava update.
Girl loves her vintage fashions.
for your viewing pleasure,
three shots of pure excitement.
Another incredible piece that made it
out of the attic after 30 years.
ps, are you reading the Split Girl blog?

old stuff new stuff

Fun times at the Golden State Goods opening this weekend!
There was lots of old stuff and of course, I partook in purchasing
some of it! yay me. More on that later.
There was racks of fun vintage..
creepy cats + ceramics? yes please.
Notice my favorite, hidden here in the case. I repeatedly begged
to buy them, but Amy would NOT allow it.
trunks of bags and belts.
and these.. specially made. So amazing.
I settled for that big red guys little brother.
Still desiring him. Some day.
removable feathers.
backless suede dress!
and this guy.
seriously cute. You must check it out if you are in
Long Beach!
And, some shots of Ava from the pumpkin patch.
oh! and good news.
 Despite my really bad blogging
commitment, we are going to start shooting some of our inspiration
pieces for swim, fall and holiday and start blogging them
over on Split girl/FB. I, of course will be stealing some of the
shots and putting them here.
In the meantime, I will continue to do what I do best at work..
dress myself up and take photo booth pictures.
have a good week everybody!

notes from my desk

Sorry internet lovers.. but, life has been calling and the old blog is officially on the back burner.
Ava P has started school and about 5 hours of each day is devoted to preventing potty accidents.
Luckily, Darth Vader  is apparently the patron saint of poopies, because Ava would
do anything for him.
and, of course I am cat keeper for 2 more days. I think I'm gonna miss em!
I do promise to come back in full effect someday. I have been looking at the
stay at home mom blogs and this picture is looking better everyday.
In the meantime, I am here, designing Holiday and I am ready to share.
I love cropped trenches and I love dropped batwing armholes... and so, I love this.
Sending out some swim goodie packs!! You know who you are!
But, really, they are for the models and some WINNERS. So, don't get angry. You'll get yours(eventually).
 Some winter vintage inspiration...
 and lacey laces!
and how scrumptious is this maxi. It is as soft as butter, yet fall heavy. yummm.
(I am not really wearing it - just tricking your eyeballs).

Hope life is beautiful! I have given a few permissions for a few more contests. So, let's hope those bad boys happen soon.

what's going on...

la la la la I am a terrible blogger. You MAY question my commitment!
ha. But, it's all in good fun. I will still part time throw some
loveliness your way!
SO! I FINALLY got my favorite piece of swim in.
Note to self : don't ever say anything is your favorite because it will
of course be the ONLY piece in the line that arrives with the
print at 250% size and has to be redone! tears!
Anyway... There is a killer group based on this gorgeous flea
market beauty. Um, looking kind of phallic at the moment.
Tell me you don't see it. Liar!
I had already received these cute bottoms, so naturally
I was excited.
Note to **customers/you - this is the Sri Lanka Morgan bottom.
Anyways, I finally got my most favoritest top.....
pencil drum roll....
The SRI LANKA PAIGE BANDEAU IN MINT! ha.
The color is actually THIS vibrant and that cobalt is to die for.
Love it!
My side story of the day is thank you to Joce for putting up this
story on her blog. Compassionate people make me incredibly happy.
I am so proud to be her friend!
Another side story, about me, is that I have been constantly reading
the Angels for Animals page on Facebook, hoping that I see
somewhere that I can help.
So! I decided that I would be a kitten foster, so that wee little kittens
would not get euthanized at the shelter and be able to be adopted.
Originally, I was set to get 7 tabbies this weekend with their mom,
but a kitten emergency came up and now I am getting these babies
tonight!!  5 week old little Russian Blue peanuts!
I am pretty excited and SO glad I can help.
And, I think it is worth mentioning that there is a chance that
these cats could grow up to look like this :
baby animals are so amazing. look at this one.

always behind.

So my blogging days have slipped to Tuesday/Thursday.
I am failing you. But, it's ok. It will all be ok
because someday soon, at least I will have fun product coming
in to show you. Right?
So, thoughts of the week are as follows...
I am noticing bloggers posting themselves in lacy tops
thanks to the big lace push from Fall runway.
from Marc by Marc Jacobs.
But, of course, my mind desires this look
on steroids.. say, with a crazy color and giant sleeves.
And, wouldn't you know, I have just the top on my
rack at work. Loves it!
Like I said... pictures of myself will be few and far between.
Let's leave this to the professionals .
My point is : fall will be lacy.
Thought of the week two.. I have really produced some results in the
garden as of late....
Mongo rainbow beets, which I made beet risotto with.
my first brush with beet risotto was here...
the beet risotto from the House of Morande winery in Chile...
that IS filet mignon on top. Dreams. Sweet dreams.
And, my pumpkin crop is preparing itself nicely for the Halloween holiday.
In other news...
the child is now a horseback rider.
who can clean horses with this brush.
and mount the horse.
and  after lessons...
hanging with her best friend! (with matching band aids)
And I did get one straight on modely photo...
I guess not much as changed since the last one 2 years ago..
Well, besides the hair and the 'tude.
Have a good week! I will be back before to long.
